Willems Boven-Leeuwen was founded in 1956 and 30 years later Jan and Annie Willems transferred the organization to the employees. This was their way of expressing gratitude towards the employees who ultimately make the company what it is. This means Willems literally belongs to the people! All employees with a permanent contract may participate. This ensures a high degree of involvement and solidarity within the group. We think this is important. In addition, employees share in the profit and growth of the organization. A real family business!
Because of this employee participation, the organization is a foundation, namely Stichting Administratiekantoor en Arbeidsbelangen JMA Willems BV. The holding company (private company) from which all operating companies are managed is under this foundation. The foundation holds all shares and those shares are issued to employees by means of certificates.
Naturally, the rules are well described and recorded by a notarial statute. But the ideas of the Willems family are just as important. In addition to being a good employer, the foundation aims to fulfill its social role. In line with the ideas of the Willems family, the organization as a whole is committed to regional technical education and regional social quality of life.
A six-person foundation board monitors the ins and outs of the holding company and its operating companies on a monthly basis. The board is formed by three employees and three independent third parties (who are in no way financially connected).
