Our history

In 1956, Jan Willems senior and two employees in the Beatrixstraat in Beneden-Leeuwen started the production of metal parts for wooden pallets and lampshade supports for the furniture industry. In 1965, Jan Willems junior joined the company. This steered Willems Boven-Leeuwen towards larger constructions in the construction sector.


In the early seventies, under the leadership of Jan Willems junior, the company moved to Waterstraat in Boven-Leeuwen. The focus expanded to stainless steel and aluminum. Jan Willems, the technical brain behind the company, laid the foundation for the innovative and creative solutions that Willems Boven-Leeuwen is now known for.


The family character was retained when Jan Willems junior resigned as director in 2006. Jan Willems passed away in 2013. His life's work is continued by proud staff. In addition to constructions for construction, industry and shipbuilding, the company also focuses on the production of the well-known Willems Ankers.

In the Willems production halls, spread across Waterstraat and the new building on Expeditieweg in Boven-Leeuwen, more than eighty passionate professionals have been working on high-quality constructions since 2010. This includes not only construction and industry segments, but also shipbuilding. Special attention is paid to sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and innovative solutions in stainless steel and aluminum.
